Why Implants

The Closest Thing to Getting Your Real Tooth Back

A dental implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. Once it heals into your jawbone — usually over a few months — we attach a custom crown on top. The result looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.

Unlike dentures or bridges, implants don't shift, don't damage neighboring teeth, and don't need replacing every few years. With proper care, an implant can last the rest of your life.

Dr. Nivin has been placing and restoring implants for over a decade. We handle the entire process in-house — from initial consultation through final crown placement — so you never get bounced between specialists.

Implant Options

Solutions for Every Situation

Whether you're missing one tooth or all of them, we have an implant solution that fits.

🦷
Single Tooth

Single Tooth Implant

For replacing one missing tooth without affecting the teeth around it.

  • Best for: One missing tooth, healthy neighboring teeth
  • Timeline: 3–6 months total

Implant-Supported Bridge

Stabilizing Dentures

Implant-Retained Dentures

Keep your existing dentures from slipping by anchoring them to a few strategically placed implants.

  • Best for: Loose, ill-fitting dentures
  • Timeline: 3–4 months
  • Removable for easy cleaning
  • No more denture adhesive
What to Expect

Your Implant Journey, Start to Finish

Implants take time. But every step is planned upfront so you always know what's next and what it'll cost.

Step 1 — Consultation & 3D Scan

We examine your mouth, take a 3D scan of your jaw, and discuss your goals. You'll get a written treatment plan with full pricing before any work begins.

Step 2 — Implant Placement

Dr. Nivin places the titanium implant into your jawbone under local anesthesia — with sedation available if you'd prefer. The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes per implant.

Step 3 — Healing Period

Your jawbone bonds to the implant over 3–6 months — a process called osseointegration. During this time, you wear a temporary tooth so you never go without a smile.

Step 4 — Crown Placement

Once healed, we attach your custom-made permanent crown. Color-matched to your other teeth, shaped to look natural. The result is indistinguishable from a real tooth.

Step 5 — Follow-Up Care

Implants are easy to maintain — brush and floss like normal teeth. We'll see you at routine cleanings to make sure everything stays healthy long-term.

Common Questions

Honest Answers About Implants

How much do dental implants cost?

+
Single tooth implants typically range from $3,000–$5,000 including the crown. Full arch solutions (All-on-4) range widely depending on materials and complexity. We provide written estimates upfront and currently offer $100 off your implant. We accept most insurance, CareCredit, and offer in-house financing.

Does the procedure hurt?

+
The placement itself is comfortable — we use local anesthesia, and sedation is available if you have any anxiety. Most patients report less discomfort than they expected. Mild soreness in the days after is normal and managed with over-the-counter pain medication.

How long do implants last?

+
With proper oral hygiene and regular dental visits, implants can last 25+ years — often a lifetime. The titanium post itself fuses with your bone permanently. The crown on top may eventually need replacement, but the implant beneath is built to last.

Am I a candidate for implants?

+
Most adults are candidates. The main requirements are adequate jawbone (we can build it up if needed), healthy gums, and overall good health. Smokers and patients with uncontrolled diabetes face slightly higher risks — we'll discuss your specific situation honestly during the consultation.

How long does the whole process take?

+
From consultation to permanent crown, expect 3–6 months for a standard single implant. All-on-4 cases can sometimes have same-day teeth. We'll give you an exact timeline at your consultation based on your specific case.

Are implants worth it compared to dentures or bridges?

+
For long-term value and quality of life, almost always yes. Implants preserve your jawbone, don't damage adjacent teeth, never slip, and last far longer than dentures or bridges. The upfront cost is higher, but cost-per-year is often lower over time.
